Closs, Stuttgart. (1880/81.) Inscribed: Joh. Gehrts (18)80 / A. Closs X / A. Müller, otherwise in German as above. 7.5 x 11.5 cm. 8.5 x 18.2 cm. BACK: Dike Construction after the High Tide. Wood engraving by P. Schweizer after Gustav Schönleber (Bietigheim 1851 – Karlsruhe 1917). Inscribed and monogrammed resp., inscribed in German as above. – On both sides East Frisian local text (“Serfdom and everything that is joined with it were never the point here. Country and people … taxed themselves”).
