The extraordinarily charming pendants, for Thienemann and Schwerdt to be assigned to the preceding set of the Special Events and Incidents at the Hunt ( “The rarest set of Ridinger’s sporting line engravings” ), belong to the little which was still missing in the Ridinger collection of Counts Faber-Castell, uniting almost the complete Thienemann stock and dissolved in 1958. – Each with 12-lined caption by Barthold Heinrich Brockes:

The Ducks take a bath. The tom-cat comes along …

“ The  wild  duck  is  for  a  grandseigneur
Not just for amusement. The fox hunts for it with pleasure, too … ”

Uniformly rich impressions of splendidly warm-toned chiaroscuro originating from the omnibus volume of the old estate of a nobleman on firm laid paper as one of Ridinger’s preferred qualities. Margins above & below 4.8-5.1 cm, laterally 2.3-3.7 cm wide. In each the white upper margin still both the two pinholes from the original stitching in numbers.
