Johann Elias Ridinger, American Bison

Johann Elias Ridinger (Ulm 1698 – Augsburg 1767). An American Bison as he fights off the attacking Bears. In light grotto with fine vista of a vastness interrupted by two rock formations, one against three, of which two of the latter are quite knock-out already. Etching & engraving by Martin Elias Ridinger (1731 Augsburg 1780). Inscribed: XVIII. / Ioh. Elias Ridinger, inv. et del. / M. El. Ridinger, sc. A. V., otherwise in German as above. 9⅞ × 13⅞ in (25.2 × 35.2 cm).
